According to Wikipedia, Namecheap, Inc. is an ICANN accredited registrar,[2] which provide services on domain name registration, and offer for sale domain names that are registered to third parties (also known as aftermarket domain names). It is also a web hosting company, based in Phoenix, Arizona. The company claims to manage more than seven million domain names for its approximately three million customers.

A lot of people get caught up in between choosing a hosting company. So below are some of the reasons why I recommend you purchase and host your domain with Namecheap. Please note that I earn a commission when you register with my affiliate link. This is how I keep BloggingLodge up and running.

Why You Should Host Domain On Namecheap

  1. Namecheap gives you value for your money and their packages are perfect for beginners ( as at the time of writing this review, you can host a domain for as little as $10/year.
  2. Their support is top notch as they are online 24/7 to assist you with setting up your domain and hosting.
  3. They offer less expensive and reliable internet hosting with more than a few useful capabilities including unlimited hosting area, unlimited bandwidth etc. You can check out their shared hosting price here
  4. Having been in business since 2000 and i can comfortably tell you that they are reliable.

Why You Probably Should Not Host Domian On Namecheap

Yes you heard me right! Unlike some other bloggers who might not bring to your attention what I’m about to reveal to you right now, well I guess I’m different lol…

Yes just like every other hosting company out there that you probably heard of or read about, Namecheap isn’t perfect either. This said, they have what I identify as a “major downside”. However this does not and will not affect your hosting experience with them.

What is this downside?

Namecheap Doesn’t Specialize in Hosting

To be clear here, Namecheap is a Domain Registrar. In fact the very best at that in my very own opinion.

That said, it might take up to 48hrs in rare case for your domain to completely propagate. Notwithstanding, in the broader internet services industry, domains and hosting are natural complements.  But I’ve never actually seen run both perfectly.
